Enhancing Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Services Programme in Surabaya
Some 200 Indonesian healthcare workers in Surabaya, Indonesia have been equipped with enhanced knowledge and skills to assess, treat and manage child and adolescent patients with emotional and behavioural issues. This follows a two-year collaboration between Singaporean and Indonesian healthcare workers under the Singapore International Foundation’s Enhancing Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Services programme. The collaboration with Menur Mental Hospital and Dr Radjiman Wediodiningrat Mental Hospital sought to enhance child and adolescent psychiatry services in the public health institutions in East Java. It has since benefitted over 10,000 people.
Healthcare communities from Singapore and Indonesia gathered on 25 April 2018 in Surabaya to celebrate the successful completion of the programme with a symposium, as well as an official closing ceremony. It was graced by Ms Annie Retnowanti, Head of Cooperation Division, Bureau of Public Relations and Protocols of Regional Secretary of the East Java Provincial Government (EJPG).
