Closing Ceremony of Emergency Care Medicine Project in Cambodia

The project closing ceremony in Phnom Penh marks another milestone the 16-year friendship between the SIF and Cambodia to uplift lives and build enduring friendships between our peoples.

The closing ceremony was attended by nearly 100 guests including dignitaries such the Ambassador of Singapore to Kingdom of Cambodia Mr Michael Tan, His Excellency Professor Mam Bun Heng, Minister of Health, Cambodia together representatives from the SIF, SingHealth, Ministry of Health and Calmette Hospital.

Doctors and nurses of Calmette Hospital demonstrated the Chain of Survival for Cardiac Emergencies – one of the learning points during the interaction with their Singaporean counterparts – during the closing ceremony.

In his speech, H.E Prof Mam Bun Heng, Minister of Health, Cambodia, spoke on the positive outcomes for the Cambodian healthcare system through the collaboration with Singaporean health professionals. As a concluding remark, he ended by saying that “to run fast, you have to with those faster than you” and that Cambodia wanted to run with Singapore.

Representatives from Singapore and Cambodia got together after the closing ceremony and signing of a MoU between SingHealth and Calmette Hospital to discuss future collaborations.
